Highly reliable and secure, its light-weight, shoe-box sized CENTAURI device leverages its proprietary laser technology to create a wireless distribution network and can be quickly, easily and cost-effectively installed on any standard telecom pole or tower at a faster time-to-market than standard fiber-optic cable.

Over the longer-term, Transcelestial aims to develop a constellation of small satellites positioned in Low Earth Orbit, allowing their laser network to not only beam across cities but upwards to connect continents across the world too.

Electronics Engineer

The Electronics Engineer will play a key role in the development of the electronics hardware for Transcelestial's laser communication terminals, both for terrestrial and space applications. This role covers the full lifecycle of electronics engineering, from design and component selection to schematic capture, PCB layout, and custom test systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the electronics design, ensuring robustness for industrial and space-grade environments.

As a Electronics Engineer, you will:

• Lead electronics hardware design, including component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
• Drive design improvements across electronics hardware in products and production systems.
• Develop and maintain custom functional test systems for verification and production.
• Conduct and host engineering reviews for new versions of electronics hardware.
• Contribute to cross-functional engineering reviews, ensuring electronics are fully integrated with optics, mechanics, and software subsystems.
• Support electronics design for space, including derating analysis, radiation tolerance assessments, and environmental qualification planning.

What you will bring:

• Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with analog circuit design.
• Basic understanding of electronics manufacturing processes (PCB assembly, testing, validation).

It is a bonus if you have:

• Experience designing industrial-grade electronics and/or networking equipment.
• Experience with failure analysis and product quality improvement.
  
• Hands-on experience with switched-mode DC/DC converter PCB layout.
  
• Familiarity with space electronics design practices, including:
• Radiation effects mitigation (SEU, TID, SEE).
• Component derating and selection for high-reliability systems.
• Experience supporting vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum tests for space electronics.
• Experience with high-speed digital design, EMI/EMC considerations, and grounding strategies.
• Background working in high-growth or startup environments is a plus.
