My client is a global financial services group and they are looking for a Loan Operations Analyst that will support the team in managing and overseeing the loan portfolio, ensuring accurate loan account maintenance, payment processing, and adherence to lending policies and regulations. The role involves close collaboration with borrowers, facility agents, banks, and internal stakeholders to deliver efficient and high-quality operational support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and extract key operational and financial terms from credit/loan agreements and transfer documents.
- Translate loan documentation into operational setup, including rate terms, amortization schedules, fees, and payment instructions.
- Capture loan trades, schedules, and cashflows in systems accurately.
- Execute drawdowns, rollovers, and trade settlements with borrowers, facility agents, and custodians.
- Liaise with Transaction Administrators to reconcile cashflow schedules and monitor settlement activities.
- Investigate and resolve trade-related discrepancies, exceptions, and escalations.
- Collaborate with front office, finance, treasury, collateral management, risk, and technology teams to optimize loan operations and ensure accurate system representation.
- Work with counterparties, custodians, clearing houses, and banks to address trade settlements, payment discrepancies, and escalations.
- Support system testing, new product setups, and process enhancements.
- Develop, fine-tune, and document operational procedures and workflows.
- Participate in projects, system enhancements, and other ad-hoc initiatives as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of experience in loan operations and settlements within banking or financial services, preferably with exposure to syndicated and bilateral loans, SPVs, bonds, repos, fixed deposits, remittances, derivatives, and treasury products.
- Strong ability to interpret loan agreements and translate them into operational setups, including schedules, rates, fees, and payment instructions.
- Solid understanding of debt financing products, credit agreements, and trade lifecycle events.
- Familiarity with front-to-back trade workflows, loan market conventions, and settlement cycles.
- Knowledge of SWIFT, trade settlement platforms (ClearPar, DTCC, Euroclear/Clearstream), and custody accounts is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong team player with interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, able to collaborate with internal and external parties.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work independently under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proactive and curious mindset.
- Accountability for targets and deliverables, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and process improvement.
- Experience in automating manual processes to enhance productivity, control, and reduce operational errors.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and cloud collaboration tools (SharePoint, OneDrive).
