Our client is a well-established Japanese manufacturer and distributor of electronic components, recognized for its high-quality products and commitment to operational excellence. They are seeking an Inventory Control Manager to lead their inventory function and contribute to the efficiency and profitability of their organization.
【Responsibilities】
1. Achieve Management Targets
- Lead the inventory control function to meet all operational KPIs and management objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement in inventory accuracy, cost optimization, and process efficiency.
- Staff Training and Development
- Manage and develop a team of inventory, purchasing, and planning professionals.
- Provide coaching, performance evaluation, and skills training to strengthen team capabilities.
Ensure staff adhere to inventory control policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
Purchasing Budget Oversight
- Prepare and manage the annual purchasing budget in alignment with business forecasts.
Work with HQ and Finance to maintain cost discipline while ensuring adequate stock support for operations.
Maintain Transfer Pricing Compliance
- Ensure all transfer prices are set and maintained in accordance with corporate policies and global tax/finance guidelines.
Liaise with HQ, Finance, and related departments to ensure transparency and audit readiness.
Manage Company Profit (Inventory Perspective)
- Monitor inventory turnover, holding costs, and stock health to protect company profitability.
- Lead actions to minimize excess, slow-moving, or obsolete stock through timely review and decision-making.
Support cost-analysis and margin improvement initiatives.
Control Allocation (Internal and External)
- Manage inventory allocation for internal departments and external customers, ensuring fair, timely distribution.
Balance supply constraints vs. business priorities while maintaining service-level commitments.
Manage Order Quantities vs. Allocation and Factory Capacity
- Review and validate customer orders by coordinating with Production, Customer Support, and Sales teams.
Adjust order quantities based on factory output, material availability, and allocation rules to ensure stable supply.
Maintain Appropriate Stock Levels
- Develop and execute inventory planning strategies that optimize stock levels.
- Ensure accuracy between system inventory and physical stock.
Prevent stockouts, overstock, and aging inventory through proactive forecasting and monitoring.
Resolve Issues with Staff and Related Parties
- Act as a key escalation point for customer delivery commitments, coordinating with Sales, Customer Support, factories, and logistics partners to meet required lead-time and prevent late deliveries.
- Provide guidance and solutions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

【Requirements & Preferences】
(Must)
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or similar
- At least 5 years of end-to-end inventory control and stock planning within the electronics, manufacturing, or distribution industry
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within the same scope
- Strong understanding of Purchasing & Budget Management and Demand Forecasting & Planning
- Highly proficient in ERP systems, AI tools, PC & Excel skills.
(Advantageous)
- Experience working in a Japanese company
- Strong understanding of Transfer Pricing Compliance
- Experience in end-to-end inventory control within any of these industries:
a. Components distribution
b. Semiconductor
c. Precision engineering
d. High-mix, low-volume manufacturing
