Position Title: Nurse Manager
Department: Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G) and Fertility Clinic
Reports To:Medical Director
Job Summary:
The Nurse Manager of the O&G and Fertility Clinic oversees the daily operations of the nursing staff and ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role involves coordinating patient services, managing nursing staff, implementing policies and procedures, and working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff.
- Develop and implement staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss clinic updates, patient care, and staff concerns.
- Patient Care:
- Oversee patient assessments, care planning, and follow-ups.
- Ensure nursing care is provided according to clinic policies and procedures.
- Address patient and family concerns promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
- Administrative Duties:
- Develop, implement, and update clinic policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage clinic budgets and resources efficiently.
- Oversee inventory management and ordering of medical supplies and equipment.
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care provided by nursing staff.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of patient records and clinic procedures.
- Education and Training:
- Organize and provide ongoing education and training for nursing staff.
- Ensure staff is knowledgeable about the latest practices in O&G and fertility care.
- Promote professional development and continuing education opportunities.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with physicians, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals to improve patient care and clinic operations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care planning.
- Represent the nursing department in clinic meetings and other forums.
- Patient Advocacy:
- Advocate for the needs and rights of patients.
- Ensure that patients and their families are well-informed about their treatment plans.
- Promote a patient-centered care approach.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Licensure: SNB registered
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience. Experience in O&G and/or fertility care will be an added advanage, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Certifications: Certification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology nursing or related field preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in clinic management software and other healthcare technology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Working Conditions:
- The position may require occasional evening and weekend hours.
- Work is primarily performed in a clinical setting.
Performance Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated based on the ability to effectively manage nursing staff, improve patient care outcomes, maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, and contribute to the overall success of the clinic.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $5, $10,000.00 per month
