Responsibilities


• Lead the development, optimization, and scale-up of surface finishing processes, including electroplating, anodizing, etching, passivation, cleaning, and related treatments.


• Take ownership of new and existing projects, from concept through implementation, ensuring technical feasibility and timely delivery.


• Troubleshoot process-related issues on the shop floor and provide technical solutions to production challenges.


• Analyze root causes of defects (e.g., poor adhesion, roughness, contamination) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).


• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements.


• Design, plan, and execute experiments (DOE, SPC, FMEA) to improve process capability, stability, and yield.


• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, and R&D teams to support audits, certifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Document, maintain, and update process control plans, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.


• Drive cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives through process innovation, automation, and workflow optimization.


• Provide technical support and guidance to cross-functional teams, including operators, engineers, and management.


• Act as a liaison with customers, offering technical insights and resolving process-related queries.


• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging materials, and new surface finishing technologies, and recommend adoption where relevant.


• Mentor and coach junior engineers and technicians on best practices, process knowledge, and problem-solving skills.


• Participate in continuous improvement projects, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process enhancement initiatives.


• Contribute to capacity planning, production forecasting, and ensuring robust manufacturing process readiness for new product launches.

Qualifications:


• Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.


• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant working experience


• Hands-on experience with equipment used in plating, anodizing, or semiconductor surface treatments.


• Proficient in problem-solving tools.


• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
