Location: Jurong Island (Company transport from Jurong East)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

This role is critical to the successful start-up, commissioning, and ongoing operation of the site. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, stable, and efficient production processes while guiding and training a team of production personnel.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the foundation of a new plant, supported by training from experienced members. You will also lead the development of operational procedures and staff training programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and assist shift supervisors and technicians in daily EVOH production.

  • Monitor and maintain utility systems (cooling towers, air compressors, chiller units, etc.).

  • Oversee raw materials inventory and coordinate waste disposal with authorized vendors.

  • Prepare equipment for maintenance and commissioning; support shutdown planning with the Maintenance Team.

  • Develop, review, and update SOPs and training manuals for the production department.

  • Lead and conduct training sessions—both classroom and on-the-job—for production technicians.

  • Champion safety practices including PPE protocols, 5S, KY exercises, and daily toolbox talks.

  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate production personnel in line with the Total Company Training Plan.

  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SS 651).

  • Participate in continual improvement initiatives and process optimization projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a polymer or petrochemical manufacturing environment.

  • Proven leadership experience in supervisory or team lead roles.

  • Strong command of chemical plant safety standards and practices.

  • Hands-on experience with process equipment such as distillation columns, extruders, CSTRs, and utility systems.

  • Familiarity with waste handling and disposal protocols.

  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proactive, decisive, and able to exercise sound judgment.
