Job Description

  • Supervise the overall operations of the Retail, Inpatient and Medical Urgency Pharmacy.

  • Oversee roster planning to ensure adequate manpower coverage during operating hours and on call services for all 3 sections.

  • Enforce budget control in all 3 sections in terms of expenditure, drug holding and labour cost.

  • Lead and coordinate internal and external audits for all 3 sections

  • Ensure all pharmacy staff have clear job descriptions and aware of their roles and responsibilities in various sections.

  • Provide constant feedback and do annual performance appraisal of all staff annually.

  • Conduct annual competency tests for all pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and ensure that they have adequate knowledge and skills to perform their duties.

  • Inspire and lead pharmacy team towards continuous learning, improving work process and a culture of medication safety.

  • Work closely with other departments to improve work processes medication supply and medication safety standards in the Hospital.

  • Be an active member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and provide inputs on drug policies, formulary control, drug administration protocols.

  • Work closely with other departments to review departmental budget, expansion of pharmacy services, pharmacy automation and manpower planning.

  • Submit reports of near misses, medication errors and incident reports to Medical Affairs/Quality Management Department.

Job Requirements

  • Degree from a university recognised by Singapore Pharmacy Council.

  • Valid Singapore Pharmacy Council Practicing Certificate.

  • Qualified to hold Form A licence for the Hospital.

  • Possess professional experience of a Principal/Senior pharmacist with minimum 8 years' experience in hospital inpatient pharmacy operations.

  • Proficient in IT skills.

  • Possess strong analytical capabilities and good problem-solving skills.
