We are seeking a highly skilled Middleware Engineer with deep expertise in WebSphere Application Server (WAS) to join a dynamic technology team supporting large-scale, business-critical systems.

You will play a pivotal role in migration projects, service reliability, and automation initiatives, ensuring high availability and stability of middleware platforms across a global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver global production service operations support in middleware technologies and platforms.
  • Ensure service reliability, availability, and stability for WebSphere Application Server and related technologies.
  • Analyze and resolve incidents, problems, and change requests in compliance with ITIL processe
  • Collaborate with development, project, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver project objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, performance optimization, and service hygiene practices.
  • Conduct technical analysis of platforms to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
  • Participate in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Continuous Testing, and Continuous Monitoring.
  • Operate and further develop middleware platforms and self-service workflows.
  • Lead and contribute to strategic migration projects and platform initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 4-8 years of experience with middleware technologies, especially:
  • WebSphere, JBoss, Wildfly, Tomcat, Apache, Kafka

Good understanding of:

  • Linux/Unix/Windows environments
  • Monitoring tools (Nagios, OMI, ServiceNow, Geneos)
  • Scripting languages (Java, Unix Shell, Bash, Python, PowerShell)
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, and Change management.

Exposure to one or more:

  • Jenkins, Ansible, Elastic Search, Rundeck, GIT
  • Container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Cloud services (AWS, GCP)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work shifts and provide on-call support when required.

Preferred / Advantageous

  • Experience in DevOps engineering.
  • Background in banking / financial institutions.
