Senior IT Engineer

Responsible for:

  1. Align IT objectives and programmes to business objectives and strategies
  2. Provide leadership role in day-to-day operations of IT functions and disaster recovery process
  3. Apply knowledge of IT and Best Market Practice to ensure that ACPL achieve the best possible return for any investment made within the following arenas, networks, market information systems, services and communications.

  4. Manage, maintain and support network and server infrastructure which includes:

  5. setting up and maintenance of servers, storage and network equipment

  6. conducting backup and data recovery activities
  7. updating anti-virus definition
  8. updating software license and hardware inventory

  9. checking server logs on a daily basis and pre-empt any failures

  10. Ensure processes, guidelines and procedures are in place and enforced for quality in installation, running, operating and support of all standard desktops, servers, local networking infrastructure, application systems and email system.

  11. Create, maintain and troubleshooting all mailbox for users.
  12. Maintain web server and update web pages when necessary.
  13. Assist in the provision of business recovery sites to give the ability to conduct business transactions and monitor exposure in the event of a disaster.
  14. Provides IT help desk support to all users in office and on board the cableship/barge.
  15. Plan, review and execute IT policies and plans.
  16. Ensure Company's physical security and computer security measures are enforced.
  17. Creates and maintains good technical documentation and operating procedures.
  18. Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement.
  19. Ensure that technical solutions proposed satisfy both the immediate and long-term needs of the business, and ensure adherence with the technical and security standards in all aspects of the team's activities.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned by the Head, IT.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma or Bachelor Degree in IT discipline, computer engineering or related field.
  • Proven minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in managing IT network infrastructure and services, IT security and wireless technology applications and interface
  • ITIL Foundation & Networking certification (CCNA) preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including server, office, and exchange.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks. Great communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
