Job Summary:

  • Basic Salary: $5500 - $6500

Job Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering:

  • Lead the design and integration of fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, wet/dry risers, gas suppression, smoke control, etc.) with ACMV and M&E systems.
  • Prepare detailed calculations, hydraulic analyses, schematics, and drawings in compliance with Singapore standards (SS CP 52, SS 575, SS 553, NFPA, FM Global).
  • Coordinate fire protection designs with ACMV, electrical, plumbing, and structural disciplines.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure designs and installations comply with SCDF, Fire Safety Act, BCA, and relevant codes of practice.
  • Prepare, review, and submit fire safety plans, calculations, and authority submissions.
  • Liaise with QPs, RIs, and SCDF officers to obtain necessary approvals and clearances.

Project Management:

  • Manage fire protection works from design to commissioning, covering tender, installation, testing, and handover.
  • Review shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements from subcontractors/vendors.
  • Conduct risk assessments, resolve site issues, and ensure project delivery on time and within budget.

Testing & Commissioning:

  • Lead inspection, functional testing, and commissioning of fire protection systems with ACMV integration (pressurization fans, smoke extraction, etc.).
  • Ensure proper documentation, handover, and compliance with Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) requirements.

Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Guide junior engineers and draftsmen on technical design, submissions, and project execution.
  • Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions on fire codes, compliance, and best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is an advantage.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in fire protection engineering within the ACMV/M&E or construction industry in Singapore.
  • Proven track record in large-scale building, industrial, or infrastructure projects (e.g. LTA, BCA, commercial developments).
  • Strong knowledge of local and international fire codes (SCDF, BCA, NFPA, FM Global).
  • Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and hydraulic calculation tools.
  • Familiar with integration of ACMV smoke control systems, stairwell pressurization, and fire alarm interfaces.
