Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sampling, inspection, and testing of raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
  • Receive, label, and store samples with appropriate safety and hazard information.
  • Review and verify Certificates of Analysis for incoming materials.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and manage inventory of supplies to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and reliability of laboratory test results.
  • Perform regular calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment to validate testing processes.
  • Report any quality or safety non-conformances promptly and adhere to written procedures.
  • Ensure all activities comply with QEHSMS standards and safety regulations.
  • Issue non-conformity forms to suppliers for raw material discrepancies and follow up on timely closure.
  • Assist in internal and external audits as required.
  • Maintain workplace safety, security, and 5S standards.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the QA Manager.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Material Science, or related discipline
  • Non-experienced welcomed; candidates with 1–2 years of laboratory or QA experience in paints, coatings, or chemical industry are preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in paint and raw material testing.
  • Familiarity with international paint testing standards such as ASTM, ISO, or BS is an added advantage.
  • Experience in calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and Certificates of Analysis.
  • Understanding of QEHSMS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and chemical safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for data entry, reporting, and documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across departments and with suppliers/auditors.
  • Responsible, proactive, and able to work independently.
