Programme Officer – Public Health and Research Coordination

Contract: 12 months (2 Nov 2025 – 1 Nov 2026)

Location: Novena

Working Hours: Mon–Thu: 8:30am–6:00pm | Fri: 8:30am–5:30pm

Salary: Depending on experience (TBC)

Role Overview:

Support programme coordination, research, stakeholder engagement, and administrative functions to implement initiatives in public health, food safety, animal-borne and vector-borne diseases, environmental hazards, and related programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Support & Coordination (35%)

  • Assist in coordinating master plan initiatives across health, food safety, and environmental programs.
  • Support domain leads in initiative implementation.
  • Track progress and assist in reporting.
  • Support inter-agency working groups and alignment with international frameworks.

Research & Documentation (30%)

  • Conduct literature reviews on public health, zoonotic diseases, and environmental health.
  • Prepare reports, communication materials, and briefing documents.
  • Support horizon scanning and evidence-based recommendations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Events (20%)

  • Assist in coordination with domestic and international partners.
  • Support participation in forums, workshops, and capacity-building events.
  • Develop public education and promotional materials.

Administrative & Secretariat Support (15%)

  • Provide administrative and project support, including meeting coordination and documentation.
  • Maintain stakeholder contact lists and manage communication systems.
  • Perform secretariat functions such as note-taking and presentation preparation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, life sciences, veterinary science, environmental science, or related field.
  • 2–12 years of relevant experience in public health, research, policy support, or programme coordination.
  • Basic understanding of public health concepts and multisectoral approaches.
  • Experience in research, writing, or project support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate across teams and organizations.

  • Postgraduate qualifications or experience in government, healthcare, or research is preferred.

  • Familiarity with One Health or multisectoral approaches is preferred.
  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills with adaptability and teamwork is preferred.
