Horticulture Manager
About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Horticulture Manager to lead our landscape maintenance and implementation teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring the health and aesthetics of our green spaces through expert horticultural practices, team leadership, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct monthly site inspections and troubleshoot landscape issues
  • Provide expert guidance on turf, plant, and tree care, including fertiliser and chemical usage
  • Lead and train site gardeners, float teams, and interns
  • Develop and implement cost-effective improvement plans for landscape challenges
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance standards and contractual obligations
  • Prepare and submit monthly horticulture and arborist reports
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff
  • Monitor and control costs related to tools, materials, plant replacements, and overtime
  • Conduct Visual Tree Assessments and prepare arborist reports for NParks and internal use
  • Attend client meetings and respond to horticulture-related requests
  • Support sales and implementation of upgrading works and ad hoc projects
  • Oversee documentation compliance and verify client payments
  • Forecast and plan fertiliser and chemical usage
  • Review operational efficiency and recommend improvements
What We're Looking For
  • Degree or Diploma in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or related field
  • Proven experience in landscape maintenance and team management
  • Proficiency in horticultural planning, costing, and reporting
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client service skills
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel for site visits
  • Passion for sustainable and high-quality landscape practices
