The role
Advanced VetCare Veterinary Centre is seeking dedicated Night Nurses and Night Patient Care Assistants to join our team in the East Region. This is a full-time position, providing essential overnight care and support for our animal patients. As a Night Nurse or Night Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our patients during the overnight hours.
Key responsibilities
- Providing round-the-clock nursing care and monitoring for inpatient animals
- Administering medications, treatments and feeding as prescribed by veterinarians
- Closely observing patient conditions and reporting any changes or concerns to the veterinary team
- Assisting with diagnostic tests, sample collection and other clinical procedures as needed
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
- Ensuring a clean, comfortable and safe environment for all inpatient animals
- Collaborating with the day nursing team to ensure continuity of care
What we're looking for
- Registered Nurse or Veterinary Nurse qualification, or equivalent experience as a Veterinary Nurse or Patient Care Assistant
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary nursing practices
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work diligently and accurately, even during overnight hours
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to animal care
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a collaborative team
- Flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of a busy veterinary hospital
