Your Role

Mighty Jaxx seeks a highly creative and experienced Product Designer to join our dynamic team. You will conceptualize, design, and develop innovative lifestyle and novelty products based on in-house and popular brands and IPs. You will translate brand essence and IP narratives into engaging, marketable products that resonate with target audiences. This is a mid-level role requiring a self-starter capable of working independently, driving projects from concept to production.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent brand identity, messaging, and design. This is a hybrid on-site role requiring close teamwork.

Responsibilities

  1. Conceptualization & Ideation:
  • Generate original product concepts inspired by brands and IPs, considering market trends and consumer preferences.
  • Research target audiences, competitors, and brand/IP specifics.
  • Create mood boards, sketches, technical drawings, and storyboards to visualize concepts and narratives.
Design Development & Refinement:
  • Create detailed 3D models, CAD drawings, and specifications for manufacturing.
  • Develop prototypes and mockups for evaluation.
  • Refine designs based on feedback from stakeholders, licensors, and testing.
Brand & IP Integration:
  • Ensure products reflect brand identity and follow licensor guidelines.
  • Collaborate with brand managers and licensors for approvals.
  • Translate IP narratives into tangible product experiences.
Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work with marketing, sourcing, and production teams.
  • Present concepts and prototypes effectively.
  • Maintain organized documentation of designs.
Market Awareness & Trend Analysis:
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
Independent Project Management:
  • Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Own the design process from concept to production.
  • Troubleshoot design and production challenges with creative solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio in lifestyle and novelty products, preferably with branded/licensed products.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360), CAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Excellent sketching, rendering, technical drawing, and prototyping skills.
  • Strong creative, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of brand management and IP licensing.
