Salling Search is assisting an international shipping group in the search for a highly organised and detail-oriented Paralegal , experienced in ship sale and purchase (S&P), financing, and compliance, to join their Business Support Team in Singapore.

Only candidates who have the below skills will be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the legal team with drafting, reviewing, and executing S&P and ship financing documents.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Treasury, Finance, Technical, Projects, Operations) on transactions.
  • Liaise with commercial, technical, and external parties such as brokers, ship registries, and external counsel.
  • Prepare for and attend closing meetings.
  • Draft and review NDAs, service contracts, and other agreements.
  • Conduct KYC/AML checks on counterparties.
  • Keep company records updated and handle regulatory filings.
  • Track legal deadlines, flag state renewals, and corporate obligations.
  • Organise legal documents and maintain internal databases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Maritime Law, Legal Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' paralegal or legal assistant experience, preferably in shipping, commodities, or international trade, with exposure to:
  • S&P transactions
  • Ship financing transactions
  • KYC/AML compliance
  • Knowledge of maritime legal documents and procedures for international ship registries.
  • Strong legal drafting skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in English (additional languages are advantageous).
