A Manpower Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of a workforce, including recruitment and allocation, performance management, workforce planning, and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards . They act as a bridge between employees and management, providing guidance, support, and resolving issues to maintain efficiency, meet operational goals, and foster a productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Selection: Collaborate with HR to identify workforce needs and participate in the selection of suitable candidates.
  • Manpower Allocation: Assign personnel to tasks and departments based on workloads, skill sets, and project requirements to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Performance Management: Monitor employee performance, provide constructive feedback, implement performance improvement plans, and conduct appraisals.
  • Workforce Planning: Forecast future manpower needs, plan for succession, and contribute to talent development initiatives.
  • Training & Onboarding: Orient new hires, help them understand their roles, and explain company policies and procedures.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee daily activities, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and manage resources like materials and machinery.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports for management on manpower utilization, performance metrics, and other relevant operational data.
  • Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution: Address workforce issues, resolve conflicts, and provide solutions to improve team performance.
  • Budgetary Control: Assist in managing labor costs and eliminating variances.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure staff follow safety protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhere to company policies and legal guidelines.
