Research Officer, Animal Cell Bioprocessing

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our Animal Cell Bioprocessing group. The successful candidate will contribute to research activities focused on animal cell culture and bioprocess development.

The work activities will mainly be performed in a laboratory, where the successful candidate will be trained to operate equipment such as bioreactor systems, biosafety cabinets, pipettes, and microscopes. The candidate will also compile, analyse, and present experiment results.

Key responsibilities include:

· Testing and optimizing media formulations for animal cell growth

· Performing cell viability and proliferation assays

· Setting up and operating bioreactor systems for animal cell culture

· Managing procurement processes and maintaining inventory of lab equipment and consumables

· Supporting routine laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, lab safety compliance, and general housekeeping

Requirements

· Bachelor degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical sciences, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or relevant disciplines

· Familiar with aseptic cell culture techniques

· Familiar with theoretical knowledge on cell cultivation

· Familiar with bioreactor set-up and operation

· Hands-on experience with word processing, data processing and presentation software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

· Prior experience in relevant fields is not a requirement but an advantage

· Highly motivated and able to work independently after training

· Team player with good interpersonal skills

· Good spoken and written communication skills
