The Opportunity

  • Adecco is working with a leading bank to find a 12months contract Data Scientist

This role supports the Group Finance Cost analytics team's financial analysis through data visualization, automation, and MIS reporting. It requires proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and visualization tools, particularly Tableau, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of key financial insights. This role involves collaboration with stakeholders to develop and refine strategic dashboards.

Key Responsibilities:

This role includes a mix of BAU monthly financial analytics support (e.g. variance computation), as well as development & maintenance of MIS tools and processes, incl. new dashboards and visualizations.

Proficiency in tableau and basic coding skills (Python/ SQL in data extraction/ joins and basic processing) are necessary, while having experience in data engineering is advantageous.

Candidate must have deep interest in working with data, understanding data lineage and process dependencies.

Responsibilities include:

(1) BAU Support for MIS Reporting

  • Supporting monthly financials/ cost analysis including variance computation and financial driver analysis
  • Support monthly generation and validating financial output of MIS reports for Cost Management & Group Support Units
  • Support data extraction and processing from various sources, including data cleansing/ transformation across financial ledgers, MIS systems, HR resource databases, Procurement and contract records etc for consolidated, management-ready financial output

(2) Tableau Dashboard Development and Maintenance

  • Maintain and implement ongoing refinements & enhancements to tableau dashboards used for the generation of MIS reports
  • Support development of strategic dashboards for new requirements

(3) Change: Operational excellence through process re-engineering

  • Identify and solution for areas of improvement/ optimisation/ automation in operational workflow for monthly processes

Qualifications and Skillsets:

  • Proficiency in Tableau is a pre-requisite, including experience in creating and maintaining dashboards, connecting to various data sources, and performing data transformations
  • Experience or proficiency in utilizing Python (including Pandas) for analytics and automation is highly advantageous
  • A strong interest in working with datasets and performing granular analysis is preferred
  • Experience with data extraction using SQL and transformation tools is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Prior experience in data analytics or financial analytics is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree required; 3-5 years of work experience in data analytics; additionally, banking industry experience is a plus
