As the Indian Master Chef at IPG Hospitality's Akasa restaurant, you will be the culinary visionary responsible for crafting and executing an authentic Indian dining experience. Leveraging your expertise in Indian cuisine, you will lead the kitchen team, ensuring the highest standards of culinary excellence, creativity, and authenticity.

You will also be responsible for opening a new concept by first quarter next year and will have reporting of both the culinary teams.

Responsibilities:

Culinary Leadership:

Lead and inspire the kitchen team to deliver exceptional and authentic Indian dishes.

Develop and update the menu to reflect the diversity of regional Indian cuisines, balancing tradition with innovation.

Recipe Development:

Create and refine recipes that showcase the rich flavors, textures, and aromas of Indian cuisine.

Experiment with new ingredients and cooking techniques while maintaining authenticity.

Quality Assurance:

Maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.

Conduct regular tastings and inspections to uphold the highest culinary standards.

Kitchen Operations:

Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.

Manage inventory, control food costs, and minimize wastage through efficient kitchen practices.

Staff Training:

Train and mentor kitchen staff in the art of Indian cooking, emphasizing traditional techniques and the importance of precision.

Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the kitchen.

Menu Innovation:

Stay abreast of culinary trends and incorporate innovative elements into the menu while preserving the authenticity of Indian cuisine.

Introduce seasonal menus and special dishes to keep the dining experience fresh and exciting.

Food Safety and Sanitation:

Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.

Implement and enforce hygiene practices, including proper storage, handling, and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Collaboration with Front-of-House:

Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless communication and coordination between the kitchen and the dining area.

Accommodate special dietary requests and collaborate on menu pairings.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef specializing in Indian cuisine.

In-depth knowledge of Indian culinary traditions, regional variations, and contemporary trends.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Creative flair and passion for experimenting with flavors while respecting traditional recipes.

Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Certification from a reputable culinary school is preferred.
