Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Facilities Manager / Senior Manager to manage client expectations and ensure smooth execution of ACMV-related works.
  • Lead and supervise a team of Technical Officers and Technicians to deliver efficient maintenance and rectification services.

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of ACMV systems, including:

  • Chiller and chilled water systems

  • DX and mechanical ventilation systems
  • Cleanroom environments
  • Positive/negative pressure rooms
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Create and develop plans for the installation, maintenance, and operation of ACMV systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
  • Conduct technical investigations and lead root cause analysis for faults and breakdowns.
  • Ensure daily thermal comfort levels are maintained in accordance with SS 554 and other relevant codes.
  • Track and report maintenance activities, follow up on outstanding issues, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Drive energy efficiency initiatives and propose system improvements to enhance sustainability.
  • Provide excellent service delivery to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Coordinate with owners, users, consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure engineering solutions meet functional and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of air-conditioning systems to ensure maintenance programs are implemented effectively and in compliance with guidelines.
  • Provide ACMV technical specifications for upgrade or renovation works when required.
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with WSH regulations and internal safety protocols.
  • Liaise with contractors for rectification and/or ad-hoc works.
  • Investigate, analyze, and determine root causes of breakdowns and faults, and report findings effectively.
  • Prepare technical reports and proposals on breakdowns and system performance.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ACMV systems, facilities management, or project management—preferably in healthcare or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills in ACMV systems.
  • Familiarity with local codes of practice (e.g., SS 554, ASHRAE standards).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and well-organized with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates a strong safety mindset and commitment to WSH best practices.
