[What the role is]
The Graduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service () aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.
You will be assisting the ITE IT networks team in the implementation and the day-to-day operation of ITE Computer Network and Security infrastructure.
You will develop practical hands-on skills in configuring and managing a wide range of network devices, hone your problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot network issues in a systematic approach.
There will be ample opportunities to develop your communication skills, collaborate with various IT and user teams for the implementation and maintenance of the network infrastructure.
[What you will be working on]
- Work with our Project Manager, Engineers, users and vendors to ensure timely completion of network projects.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing new network solutions that enhance the capability, security, and manageability of IT network and security infrastructures.
- Work with the Network Engineers / appointed contractor(s) to monitor and manage the IT computer network infrastructure to meet the Service Level Agreement using various tools.
- Work with IT Helpdesk Engineers / Network Engineers to resolve any network and security issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of the network diagram, configurations and technical documents.
[What we are looking for]
- Relevant academic background or training in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field
- Passionate about IT Network Infrastructure, hardware, hands-on technical and operational work.
- Ability to work as a team to achieve targeted objectives.
- Prior internship experience in IT projects and operational support in networking domain.
- Having relevant professional certifications such as CCNA will be advantageous.
