About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical junior investment analyst to join the MW Global Opportunities Fund with a global Financials mandate. The ideal candidate is a meticulous and highly analytical with the ability to think critically and creativity as well as be conversant with the principles of finance.

Your responsibilities

  • Generate long and short equity investment recommendations in the global financials sector, supported by detailed financial modelling and proprietary research
  • Active and ongoing monitoring of portfolio holdings
  • Participate in quarterly earnings calls and monitor news events related to companies under coverage, updating the models and investment recommendations accordingly
  • Attend industry conferences and management meetings, build relationships with sell-side analysts and research associates
  • Conduct extensive and differentiated bottom-up financial analysis of companies, business models, relevant industry metrics and industries

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest in and enthusiasm for the public market investing and fundamental analysis
  • Advanced understanding of financial statements with the ability to identify the key drivers of a business and industry
  • Excellent Excel modeling skills
  • A self-starter mentality with an ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take ownership of tasks.
