Primary Role

Conduct in-depth equity research to generate long-term investment ideas and short-term trading recommendations for institutional and regional retail clients.

Provide effective support to the Group and Country Investment Banking teams in driving revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities

Respond to requests from Institutional Equity Sales teams and their clients in a timely manner, offering robust research support to the Group Wholesale Banking and Group Investment Banking revenue pillars.

Undertake and maintain research coverage on assigned stocks and sectors, which involves:

  • Actively monitoring micro and macroeconomic factors influencing the relevant stocks and sectors
  • Conducting regular visits to companies and organisations within the sector
  • Generating investment ideas, including identifying sales and trading opportunities
  • Promptly writing research reports based on these investment ideas
  • Consistently and timely updating clients on key sector developments
  • Assisting in the production and coordination of research publications, as well as the organisation of corporate-client engagement events (e.g. NDRs, conferences, etc.)
  • Meeting performance targets for the Equity Research team, such as internal client votes and external analyst polls

Accompany the Head of Research or Head of Regional Sector on marketing roadshows and client servicing activities, both domestically and in overseas markets, as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

A university degree in a finance-related discipline is preferred

Between 3 to 5 years of research experience at an established financial institution

Prior experience in independently covering listed equities in the ASEAN markets

Industry experience would be an added advantage

Ability to obtain the necessary licence to conduct "Regulated Activities" under the Financial Advisers Act, Singapore

MBA or CFA qualification is preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Familiarity with financial market databases

Demonstrate strong teamwork to deliver a cohesive research product

Collaborate closely with Board Members and other senior management to enhance RHB's research output and brand

Ensure full compliance with all legal and regulatory standards to uphold a high level of integrity in RHB's research team and its outputs
