Job Description

Team Summary

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful results for clients. Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, digital marketing and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results. In Asia Pacific (AP), VCA has two types of teams – (1) Geo team, focused on serving the accounts in their geography and (2) Practice Area teams, focused on providing and deepening expertise in functional topics such as risk, digital, corporate banking, AI, etc.

What a Consulting Director, VCS Lead, Asia Pacific does at Visa

As a Director within the Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) CMS Practice, you will lead the growth and development of the Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) consulting practice across Asia Pacific. This regional role is pivotal in shaping the future of VCS by expanding our offerings, deepening our capabilities, and driving impactful engagements with clients. This role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and consulting delivery experience, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to navigate a highly matrixed and cross-functional environment.

The CMS Practice within Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) acts as a center of excellence, developing thought leadership, scalable offerings, and best practices that empower our markets to deliver high-impact engagements. This role is essential in shaping the future of VCS across Asia Pacific—ensuring that Visa remains the trusted advisor for commercial clients and continues to lead in delivering value beyond transactions.

Projects you will be a part of

As a Director in the CMS Practice, you will contribute to a dynamic mix of regional initiatives and client-facing engagements across Asia Pacific. This role offers a balanced focus between developing scalable solutions and thought leadership at the regional level, and leading or supporting strategic consulting projects in the markets.

  • Regional Practice Development

    You will play a key role in shaping Visa's Commercial Solutions consulting offerings across Asia Pacific. This includes designing reusable assets and solution playbooks that address common client challenges, developing thought leadership content such as industry evaluations and strategic frameworks, and supporting market teams with capability building and go-to-market strategies. In this regional capacity, you will also serve as a subject matter expert, contributing to cross-functional initiatives and guiding internal stakeholders to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across markets.
  • Project Leadership & Delivery

    You will lead or support strategic consulting engagements that address high-impact opportunities in commercial payments across Asia Pacific. These include helping clients optimize their SMB portfolios by leveraging Visa's data and insights to drive growth and improve customer engagement, enabling the expansion of Lower Middle Market (LMM) segments through direct-to-corporate sales strategies and tailored go-to-market approaches, and identifying and activating new verticals to unlock B2B payment flows. These projects typically span several months and require close collaboration with data science teams, market consultants, and client stakeholders to ensure recommendations are both actionable and transformative.
  • Business Development

    You'll contribute to proposal development, guide clients through the sales process, and work with market VCA teams and account teams to identify and shape new consulting opportunities.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

What you will need:

Experience and Education

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, including strategy consulting, commercial payments, or financial services.
  • Bachelor's degree required and advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's) preferred.

Consulting and Delivery Excellence

  • Proven track record in leading complex consulting engagements and delivering strategic insights.
  • Strong capability in developing frameworks, solutions, and recommendations that address client challenges.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering high-impact client presentations.
  • Ability to synthesize data-driven insights into actionable strategies.

Thought Leadership and Practice Development

  • Demonstrated ability to develop scalable offerings, reusable assets, and thought leadership content.
  • Passion for shaping the future of commercial payments and driving innovation across markets.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

  • Skilled in navigating matrixed environments and collaborating across functions (e.g., sales, marketing, risk, innovation).
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Commercial Acumen and Business Development

  • Experience in identifying client needs, qualifying opportunities, and supporting proposal development.
  • Ability to guide clients through a consultative sales process and secure new engagements.

Operational Rigor

  • Familiarity with internal systems for pricing, approvals, and revenue recognition.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills.
