Purpose

To contribute as part of a process safety team on a proposal / project, in collaboration with different departments and process safety section, to manage Major Accident Hazards (MAHs) and prevent and mitigate Major Accident Events (MAEs) throughout the lifecycle of the facility.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop / Support the development and review of HSSE Design Philosophy, and other process safety-related philosophies. Provide guidance to the proposal / project for compliance to company standards, client and regulatory requirements of safety-related systems.
  2. Develop / Support the development of scope of work, perform safety consultant technical bid evaluation, participate in workshops, plan, review and deliver safety studies / deliverables. Ensure safety studies are complete, correct, and delivered on time, demonstrating risks are As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
  3. Organise Bow-Ties workshops, define SCEs, communicate performance standards requirements, review SCE design, and manage tracking and review of assurance tasks to ensure safety critical elements meet standards for MAE prevention and mitigation.
  4. Coordinate with risk consultants/subcontractors to ensure proper risk assessment in accordance with scope of work and methodology, on time and within budget.
  5. Collect and review risk assessment data, prepare deliverables, collaborate with other disciplines, and ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
  6. Contribute to project / engineering performance goals.
  7. Work with the project team to ensure deliverables are compliant, support audits, and resolve non-conformities to ensure regulatory compliance and minimize delays.
  8. Communicate professionally with clients, respond to comments, and ensure hazards are managed appropriately.
  9. Manage changes according to the Management of Change procedure, evaluate impacts on risk.
  10. Identify lessons learned for improved management of MAHs and project execution.
  11. Ensure technical competencies are met and mentor process safety engineers.
  12. Adhere to company policies, code of conduct, and ethics.
Requirements

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Process Safety engineering in the oil and gas sector for a bachelor's degree in Chemical / Environmental / Mechanical Engineering, or minimum 6 years for a master's degree, or 12 years for a diploma holder.
