Sales Analytics Manager APAC

This role has a broad and strategic scope, owning the following key programs and functional areas for the APAC region:
- APAC Commercial BI & Analytics Program: Full ownership of the region's commercial analytics program, including the continuous improvement and user adoption strategy for key platforms like the Tableau-based CV Portal. This includes leading strategic projects (e.g., Project PULSE) in close collaboration with Global Commercial Operations (GCO), IT, and market sales leadership to deliver a clear program roadmap and enhance user engagement.
- BI Governance & Harmonization Initiative: Accountability for the strategic initiative to simplify and standardize BI reports across APAC. Key deliverables include a harmonized report catalog in Collibra and a comprehensive governance framework, developed in partnership with regional data stewards and market BI leads to establish a single source of truth.
- APAC Data Shared Service Center Operations: Full ownership of the data shared service center team based in Malaysia, including direct management of one analyst. This involves defining service level agreements (SLAs) for report extraction via COGNOS and dashboard creation to support all APAC markets and regional functions.
- Strategic Insight & Leadership Reporting: Responsible for delivering strategic insights and performance narratives to the APAC Leadership Team (APLT). The key deliverable is the APAC Balanced Scorecard, which synthesizes cross-functional KPIs into actionable recommendations and data-driven stories.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
Commercial BI Platform Management & Development
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of core commercial analytics platforms like the CV Portal, CV Data Cube, etc from requirement gathering with sales and commercial teams to deployment and continuous improvement.
- Drive the strategic automation of business reporting to reduce manual reliance and enhance operational efficiency. The key deliverable is an automation roadmap that improves the quality and timeliness of insights for all stakeholders.
- Lead initiatives to challenge the status quo by convincing market leadership to simplify and standardize complex local reports, ensuring each is purpose-driven before leading its full automation.
- Lead co-design workshops with in-market commercial teams and sales leadership to produce tangible deliverables such as validated business requirement documents and proof-of-concept (PoC) dashboards in Tableau.
BI Harmonization, Governance & Operations
- Drive the strategic harmonization and simplification of disparate BI reports across APAC to establish a governed, single source of truth for all commercial reporting.
- Own the integrity and management of a comprehensive data cube, flexibly integrating diverse commercial, sales, and external data sets (e.g., market share reports from CLI, GfK, IQVIA, etc) to support generation of advanced insights by connecting business activity with lead and lag indicators.
- Lead the establishment and operation of a robust BI governance framework, driving the adoption of Collibra for report cataloging, standardization, and quality control.
- Own the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and self-service guidance for all commercial reports and applications.
- Lead the provision of BI and report extraction maintenance support via COGNOS, leveraging the APAC Data Shared Service Center to support all APAC countries.
Commercial Insight Generation & Strategic Storytelling
- Own the APAC Balanced Scorecard, driving the transformation from simple data maintenance to strategic insight generation and actionable recommendations for the APAC Leadership and Local Leadership Team.
- Drive the application of statistical modeling techniques (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing) to diagnose business performance, uncover key drivers, and lead the generation of predictive insights.
- Lead the development of compelling, data-driven business narratives to guide strategic and tactical decisions for sales and marketing leadership, focusing on hypothesis-driven insight.
Driving BI Maturity through Thought Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Drive thought leadership to enhance BI literacy and maturity across the region by leading the APAC BI Forum (e.g., ABCD Forum) and building a strong community of practice with BI counterparts in each country.
- Lead strategic partnerships with regional data stewards and local BI counterparts to continuously improve report quality, reliability, and trust across the organization.
- Own the representation of the APAC region in global forums to ensure regional needs are incorporated into global BI and data strategies.
Travel:
This role requires approximately 10-20% travel to various countries within the APAC region for stakeholder engagement, workshops, and project collaboration.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
- Technical BI & Data Skills: Expert proficiency in BI platform development (Tableau, Power BI, etc), data modeling (Power Pivot), and report extraction (COGNOS). Strong knowledge of data lake & mart, ERP systems (Oracle and SAP), SFDC & SFMC and the principles of a single source of truth.
- Analytical & Statistical Skills: Strong understanding of data experimentation, analytical frameworks like CRISP-DM, and statistical modeling concepts (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing) to drive business insights
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional data storytelling and communication skills, with advanced proficiency in MS Excel & PowerPoint to create compelling narratives and drive healthy tension with key stakeholders across markets.
- Business Acumen: Deep business acumen with the ability to connect complex data and analytical frameworks to tangible commercial outcomes.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of R or Python for data analysis is a strong plus.
- Languages: Proficiency in an Asian language (e.g., Chinese, Korean, or Japanese) is desirable to facilitate close collaboration with key markets.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time, office-based role in Singapore requiring prolonged hours of computer and screen use.
Experience:
Required:
- A minimum of +10 years of professional experience in business intelligence, sales analytics, data analytics, or a related field.
- A proven track record of end-to-end execution and delivering impactful analytics solutions; this is a hands-on role requiring the candidate to personally create dashboards, perform data sanitization, preparation, build data models and visualizations.
- Proven experience leading the development, implementation, and governance of enterprise-level BI platforms in a multi-country setting.
- Demonstrated experience managing direct reports and leading analytics projects from conception to delivery.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a regional role, collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams across different APAC countries and time zones.
Preferred:
- Experience in the FMCG, consumer health, or medical device industry.
Education:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred:
- A master's degree is highly preferred, such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA), Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS), or a Master of Information Systems Management (MISM).
