PURPOSE

Key corporate risk management role for the Insurance Group. Responsible for the development of policies; control procedures and capabilities to ensure the effective identification, assessment and mitigation of operational / non- financial risks.

KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES

  • Overall responsibility for the Group Operational Risk Function

  • Provide advice and support to the Group Board / Local Boards and Risk Committees to ensure the effective management of operational risk

  • Coordinate relations with regional law enforcement, intelligence and regulatory investigative agencies

  • Ensure Group & Country non-financial risk/ORM functions are adequately resourced and function effectively

  • Ensure compliance of non-financial risk portion of the Enterprise Risk Management and

  • Establish comprehensive risk monitoring and reporting systems

  • Establish a group-wide mechanism to proactively detect internal control weaknesses and governance documents compliance

  • Ensure appropriate protection of Information systems /customer data

  • Direct fraud, crisis and major incident response

  • Ensure effective incident management, crisis management and business continuity processes are in place

  • Ensure sufficient Group-wide fraud risk management process is in place

  • Ensure sufficient risk management and governance processes are in place for Group level non-insurance entities

  • Support M&A initiatives when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years operational risk related experience at a senior level (of which at least 5+ years must have been in corporate or consulting positions).

  • 5+ years work experience in Asia

  • Degree or Diploma in Risk Management or related discipline from recognised university

  • Prior experience of interaction at Board level and with regional regulatory / enforcement bodies

  • Direct experience of insurance industry

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Deep understanding of the operating risks for multinational corporations in Asia

  • Working knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations; codes of conduct

  • Direct experience of managing in multi-cultural environments

  • Good communication skills

  • Conversational level local language skills a plus
