Job Role & Requirements

Help create and maintain a child-centred, homely therapeutic community that is responsive to the developmental needs of residents, where they are enabled to grow holistically, work towards emotional stability and develop their full potential.

Duties (not limited to the following) include:

  • Carry out the daily operational duties such as supervising the residents' daily routines, including ensuring they have their meals, going to school, doing chores, attending programmes, keeping documentation up to date, maintaining the cleanliness of the premises, etc.
  • Participate in shift-to-shift communication, which includes completing daily documentation and providing important handover information to staff at the change of every shift.
  • Assess and respond to crises or conflicts and escalate to the Residential Manager/Head of Home when needed.
  • Participate in treatment/review meetings, familiarise oneself with the background, treatment plan, and daily progress of all clients, and help implement their treatment plans.
  • Be a mentor/role model to the residents and provide any feedback to the Residential Manager and Social Worker on residents' behaviours and compliance with activities that are part of their treatment plan.

Requirements

  • 40 hours a week, 4-day work week (Able to work rotating shifts, including one weekend and public holidays).
  • Candidates must be 21 years old and above (regulatory requirement).
  • Working location: 9 Lorong 8 Toa Payoh, Good Shepherd Place, Singapore
  • Independent and a team player.
  • Only female applicants as this is a shelter home for female children.
