Job Description: Maintenance Technician (MSAN, PTN, SDH, ALLC)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technician to perform installation, commissioning, testing, and migration of telecommunications equipment, specifically focusing on MSAN, PTN, SDH, and ALLC technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient deployment of network infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. A preference for candidates who own a motorcycle is desired due to the need for efficient travel to various site locations. The role also requires a willingness to work night shifts to perform migration activities.
Responsibilities:
Installation and Commissioning: Install, configure, and commission MSAN, PTN, SDH, and ALLC equipment according to project specifications and industry best practices.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform comprehensive testing of newly installed and existing equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify and resolve technical issues.
Migration Activities: Execute migration plans, including night migrations, with minimal disruption to services, ensuring seamless transition and cutover.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all installation, testing, and migration activities, including detailed documentation of configurations, issues, and resolutions.
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and performance checks on telecommunications equipment to prevent failures and ensure network reliability.
Site Surveys: Perform site surveys to assess installation requirements and identify potential challenges.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to coordinate activities and ensure project milestones are met.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing technical inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
Education: Diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in installation, commissioning, testing, and migration of telecommunications equipment.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of MSAN, PTN, SDH, and ALLC technologies.
Proficiency in using testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
Understanding of network protocols and architectures.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
Personal Attributes:
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented and committed to quality.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license.
