Role Overview:
Our client is a Beijing-headquartered engineering software company that has established a strong reputation in CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) and simulation solutions in China. They are now expanding into Southeast Asia and have appointed an exclusive distributor in Singapore to spearhead their international growth. The company's solutions are widely adopted across industries such as electronics, semiconductors, automotive, and new energy, helping engineers and enterprises improve product design, optimize performance, and reduce time-to-market.
Backed by years of proven success in China, the client is investing in building their presence in SEA. This role is their first senior commercial hire in Singapore, offering the rare opportunity to shape market entry strategy, drive sales growth, and build a regional sales team from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market and sales strategy to launch and scale the CAE business in Southeast Asia.
- Build brand awareness and credibility in the region, leveraging our success in China while tailoring positioning to local market dynamics.
- Drive a hybrid sales motion balancing direct enterprise sales with indirect channel/partner development to maximize market coverage.
- Focus business development efforts on electronics, semiconductors, new energy, and automotive, while flexibly adapting to emerging opportunities.
- Own the end-to-end enterprise sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, solution mapping, demos/PoCs, commercial structuring, negotiation, and closing.
- Achieve or exceed license and revenue targets; consistently expand the customer base and increase share of wallet.
- Collaborate with global teams to localize solutions and marketing materials, and provide market insights to guide product roadmap.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline visibility, and actionable market intelligence.
- As business scales, recruit, lead, and develop a local sales team (pre-sales engineers, account executives, channel managers).
Qualifications:
- Degree or above in Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field
- 10+ years of enterprise software sales/business development experience, with at least 3 years in leadership
- Proven track record in selling CAE or industrial simulation software
- Demonstrated success in building new markets from scratch, with an entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset.
- Strong solution selling, negotiation, and account/partner management skills, with consistent quota overachievement
- Willingness to travel frequently across Southeast Asia
