Next Level Genomics is a cutting-edge laboratory services provider based in Singapore that is focused on bringing the latest in next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies – specifically in long-read technology – as well as spatial genomics technologies to the research and diagnostics market. Our goal is to provide the highest quality data to the community and to work closely with our customers to assist in their success. We are expanding our current offerings to include clinical testing services and are growing the team to offer the best experience to our customers in terms of value, turn-around-time and data quality.
We're looking for candidates with at least a bachelor's degree in BioMedical/Life Science or a related field, along with specific knowledge and hands-on experience in NGS technologies – such as PacBio or Nanostring technologies – as well as real-time qPCR. Experience in a clinical testing laboratory and familiarity with CAP, HCSA (MOH), ISO or other regulatory frameworks would be advantageous. The Laboratory Officer will be responsible for conducting various laboratory protocols including DNA extraction, qPCR under clinical conditions, NGS library preparation of long-read sequencing libraries, QC analysis of samples and libraries, running sequencing and qPCR instruments and assisting in the analysis and interpretation of test results. Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and online analysis software and platforms is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform clinical qPCR assays using established protocols under regulatory guidelines and standards.
Perform assays using established protocols in NGS.
Troubleshooting and optimization of protocols for maximum data quality and output.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring accuracy, precision, and reliability of performance and documentation for regulatory purposes.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to quality control measures to ensure accurate and consistent data generation.
Perform external quality assessment (EQA) assays for regulatory compliance and competency testing.
Maintain laboratory records and documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Laboratory Science, Biotechnology, Life Science or a related field preferred. Minimum of Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification. Advanced degrees are an advantage.
Preferably hands-on experience and proficiency in qPCR and NGS (experience with PacBio or Nanostring platforms is an advantage).
Preferably 2-3 years of clinical laboratory experience in molecular genetics/pathology. Keen interest to learn with positive work attitude, analytical thinking, good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong understanding of molecular biology principles, laboratory procedures, and analytical workflows.
