IT APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST | INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION

Our client is a prominent not-for-profit International Organisation whose mission significantly shapes the economic and social development of its member economies. As part of its continued journey to enhance technology capabilities, the organisation is seeking an experienced IT Applications Specialist to join its lean but impactful team, reporting directly to the Head of Technology.

In this role, you will take ownership of enterprise applications and systems, driving their end-to-end management, optimization, and alignment with evolving business needs. You will oversee application performance, coordinate system updates, and deploy cloud-based and integrated solutions that enhance operational efficiency and user experience. Your work will directly enable the organisation's digital transformation and data-driven decision-making agenda.

You will serve as a trusted technical partner to the business, resolving escalations, managing vendor relationships to ensure quality delivery, and safeguarding business continuity through sound backup and disaster recovery protocols. Beyond operations, you will lead initiatives around system enhancement, automation, and innovation, including exploring AI and machine learning applications to modernize workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimise enterprise applications to meet organisational and user needs.

  • Deploy and integrate cloud-based applications with existing systems to ensure reliability and scalability.

  • Ensure service levels and application performance metrics are consistently met.

  • Support data integration and analytics initiatives to enable more data-informed decision-making.

  • Handle Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalations, ensuring timely issue resolution.

  • Manage vendors and service providers to maintain operational excellence.

  • Implement and test disaster recovery and backup protocols.

  • Drive application-related projects, including automation and AI/ML-led innovation.

  • Conduct user training sessions and promote adoption of key application solutions.

  • Provide technical support for AV systems during meetings and events.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in applications and systems management, ideally in international or public-sector environments.

  • Solid understanding of ERP, Workday, data analytics, and emerging technologies.

  • Strong project management and vendor management skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a multicultural environment.
