About the role

Become an integral part of our dynamic design family at The Odd Layout Studio as an Interior Designer. In this full-time position based in Central Region, you will play a key role in creating innovative and visually stunning interior spaces that exceed our clients' expectations. With a focus on commercial and residential design, you will collaborate closely with clients, project managers and other designers to deliver exceptional design solutions.

What you'll be doing

  • Conducting client consultations to understand their design requirements and preferences
  • Generating conceptual design ideas and mood boards to communicate your creative vision
  • Producing detailed floor plans, 3D renderings and technical specifications
  • Selecting and sourcing appropriate furniture, fixtures, finishes and decor elements
  • Coordinating with contractors, tradespeople and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Monitoring projects to ensure adherence to budgets, timelines and quality standards
  • Presenting design proposals to clients and incorporating their feedback

What we're looking for

  • A degree or diploma in Interior Design or a related field
  • 3+ years' experience working as an Interior Designer, preferably in a commercial setting
  • Strong proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp and Powerpoint
  • Excellent space planning, creative problem-solving and technical drawing skills
  • A keen eye for aesthetics, colour, texture and detail
  • Exceptional communication and client-facing abilities
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations and sustainability best practices
