**Duties**:
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Supervisory duties of the MCMPM includes:
- Provide direct supervision and oversight for the multidisciplinary medical case management program coordinators (MCMPC). Supervises and evaluates work performance of MCMPCs.
- Assigning work based on matching priorities/requirements of the assignments, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, with various capabilities of MCMPCs to ensure optimum use of personnel.
- Tracks and monitors all work performed by the MCMPCs to ensure that all work is properly recorded to ensure fairness and equitability in workload.
- Providing input as the direct line supervisor for performance evaluations on MCMPCs as required by agency/other government policies and guidance.
- Promoting growth and development of MCMPCs to enable optimum performance within their current positions.
- Promotes and assists with maintaining a collaborative team environment within the MCMP.
- Serves as Acting Unit Chief, CSSU, as needed.
- Managerial duties include:
- Serves as the coordinator and principal advisor for the IHSC program that performs medical case management. The program and work cover medical case management operations nationwide. Services are complex professional services which include and are not limited to the following: consultation services, clinical reviews, case monitoring, and managed care coordination. Services are provided for individuals in ICE custody located at IHSC facilities and non-IHSC facilities. The MCMPM independently performs a variety of functions which include fact-finding, analyzing data, and resolving complex problems.
- Briefs and advises supervisory chain on MCMP activities. Communicates program activities to agency leadership and stakeholders. Communication may require different formats (e.g., reports, oral reports, support materials), reoccurring frequency, and multiple communications based on stakeholder (e.g., custody, legal).
- As needed, the incumbent represents the division at briefings and meetings, and, coordinates meetings, and presentations. Collaborates and works effectively with internal agency units, internal stakeholders, ICE/ERO/local custody, agency attorneys or agency investigators, as required across IHSC and non IHSC facilities, in order to explain, coordinate, interpret and seek support for policies, procedures, programs, plans or individual actions (often of a controversial and complex nature) in which an extensive amount of explanation and tact is required.
- Assists in determining strategic goals of the agency in collaboration with other senior officials in IHSC/ERO/ICE/DHS to develop, plan, provide leadership for, and implement IHSC priorities for the MCMP.
- Assists with development and revision to unit/agency policy and standard operating procedures for the MCMP to ensure compliance with program, accreditation and clinical regulations and requirements.
- Applies specialized knowledge of basic principles and practices related to the management of health care delivery systems.
- Provides technical advisory services for clinical matters not limited to the electronic health record, Milliman Care Guidelines (MCG), significant event notifications (SENs), unified patient tracking system (UPTS), category specific training systems related to the MCMPCs and the MCMP as needed.
- Leads appropriate meetings or committees as assigned by the Chief CSSU or by the DAD Clinical Services Division (DAD CSD).
- Maintains awareness of the MCMP's operational issues.
- Serves as government purchase card holder as needed.
- Consults, plans, directs, reviews, and coordinates administrative MCMP activities including:
- Oversees performance of MCMP's projects while working to promote and ensure ultimate success of the program. Evaluates program's goals and objectives, priorities, and activities in terms of current operating activities, program progress, and changing needs and demands. Develops and monitors an implementation plan in support of overall MCMP goals.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, or ad hoc reports as needed.
- Applies thorough knowledge of general administrative/clinical principles, practices, processes, and techniques; and applies this knowledge to solve problems and meet requirements specific to the MCMP.
- Assists Chief CSSU, with budget estimates by providing quarterly estimates on numbers of MCMPCs who will be needed to travel to enable maximum support to the MCMP.
- Provides regular briefings on activities of the MCMP as requested by the Chief CSSU or the Deputy Assistant Director for Clinical Services (DAD CSD).
- Responsible to provide assistance to the Chief CSSU, or the DAD CSD, for any MCMP response to taskers from the IHSC Taskings Unit, stakeholder inquiries, investigative inquiries, or Congressional inquiries
