
Quality Manager, Asia Pacific

**Overall Purpose:
Responsible for the leadership, Quality performance and oversight of the following functions within Asia Quality Operations - Quality, Technical Support, Customer Relations and Regulatory Compliance.
Develop, implement, and communicate a clear strategic vision for quality to maximize employee alignment and engagement, promoting continuous improvement in an empowered environment.
**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
1. Oversee, motivate, mentor and evaluate the employees performance of the Quality, Technical Support and Compliance department in Asia-Pacific
2. Lead committee activities enforcing quality improvements by reduction of quality incidents from customers, internal operations and suppliers
3. Manage the assigned area of responsibility according to the global specifications of VARTA and our quality mission
4. Develop departmental strategies and vision to ensure adherence to customers’ expectation; enforce consistent improvement and monitor Asia Quality departments
5. Demonstrate strong talent management ability focusing on hiring, coaching, directing and developing employees while increasing engagement
6. Successfully establishes and adheres to yearly departmental budgets
7. Provide support and guidance to lead and adhere to regulatory and legal requirements
8. Partner with Finance team on measurement and reporting of quality metrics, Quality KPI´s.
9. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
**Job Specifications (Qualifications / Experience / Skills & Knowledge / Personal Qualities)**
- Proven leadership and management skills with ability to optimize team performance and development.
- Good relationship management skills with ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders, customers and suppliers.
- Minimum 15 year of experience in quality organizations and minimum 10 years of experience in manager’s role in manufacturing site.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree required in engineering related majors.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Possess comprehensive understanding of quality tools (8D, SPC, FMEA, MSA, Six Sigma, APQP, etc.).
- Familiar with training in internal and external auditing to ISO 9001, IATF16949, 45001,
- Able to communicate and present effectively in small and large groups.
- Able and willing to work at plant site in Batam for at least 2 - 3 days per week
- Flexible to work within Europe and Asia business time zones.
