**Department Overview**:
The Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”) team in Singapore covers bond origination across the Asia Pacific region, and is part of the broader ING Strategic Products Group. The DCM origination team works closely with our partners in the ING Wholesale Bank value chain, including sectors, country, debt syndicate, fixed income sales, sustainable finance and legal teams, to deliver best-in-class advice and execution for bond funding opportunities for investment grade and high yield corporates and financial institutions.

The role of the Director will be to originate G3 and local currency bond transactions for existing and potential ING clients, and to drive execution on mandated transactions. Ability to independently organise marketing efforts and lead execution from mandate to closing is essential for this senior DCM role. Origination to be mainly focused on South & Southeast Asian clients, with coverage of select North Asian clients. Strong technical capability and collaborative mindset will be beneficial towards working with other high performing teams and colleagues at ING.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role**:
**Job Requirements**:

- Proven and established track record in fixed income origination and investment banking (Director: 10+ years)
- Broad product knowledge spanning across Investment Grade, High Yield and Financial Institution bonds
- Deep understanding of Corporate and FI issuers clients active in South & South East Asia, across both G3 and local currencies
- Strong technical capability in the field of fixed income origination, from pitching, market updates, client coverage, RFP submissions, to full execution of a transaction including bookbuilding, allocation, hedging and settlement for a new bond offerings
- Experience in running sole-led transactions will be key to establish experience
- Good knowledge of hedging and derivative products (IRS, Xccy, non-deliverable swaps) relevant to bond offerings
- Strong ability to multi-task across a variety of tasks and mandates
- Development and on-the-job training of junior colleagues on the DCM desk, as well as partners within ING Wholesale Banking
- Work alongside and support Sector and Country teams covering clients across the region, as well as identifying opportunities working in close conjunction with DCM/Sector colleagues across Europe & North America
- Drive to grow the DCM business in a collaborative manner, with the right client and stakeholder networks to succeed. Highly motivated, resourceful and with strong sense of integrity

**Career Potential**

**Qualification/Education**
- **Essential**: Strong numerical skills. Relevant degree level qualification and at least 10+ years experience in a relevant field e.g. debt capital markets / bond syndicate / investment banking function
- Fluent in English
- **Desirable**: Foreign language skills (good proficiency in mandarin will be an advantage)

**Experience/Knowledge**
- **Essential**: Strong track record in fixed income origination and execution across South and Southeast Asia, across investment grade, high yield and financial institution bonds
- **Desirable**:Deal experience in China/HK G3 bond market will be useful
