**Job Summary**:
The **Air Operations Officer**is responsible for managing and coordinating air operations within an airline, airport, or logistics company. This role involves overseeing flight scheduling, air traffic management, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of flight operations. The Air Operations Officer acts as the central point of contact for coordinating all air-related activities and must have a deep understanding of aviation processes, regulations, and safety standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Flight Operations Coordination**:Oversee the scheduling and planning of flights, ensuring timely departures and arrivals.
Coordinate with the airline, airport operations, and air traffic control to ensure smooth flight operations.
Manage any changes or disruptions to flight schedules, such as delays or cancellations, and communicate these effectively to all relevant parties.
- **Safety and Compliance**:Ensure that all air operations comply with local and international aviation regulations, as well as safety standards set by aviation authorities (e.g., FAA, ICAO).
Monitor flight operations to ensure they are conducted safely and according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Work closely with safety teams to investigate incidents, near misses, or safety violations.
- **Communication and Liaison**:Serve as the primary point of contact for internal departments (flight crew, ground operations, logistics) and external stakeholders (air traffic control, regulatory bodies, airport authorities).
Maintain clear communication with flight crews, ground staff, and other stakeholders to relay operational information.
Respond to emergency situations, ensuring that proper protocols are followed and coordinating with appropriate emergency response teams.
- **Operational Monitoring and Reporting**:Monitor daily flight operations to ensure smooth and efficient processes.
Maintain and update operational logs and reports, including flight status, crew assignments, and any issues that may arise.
Prepare and deliver operational reports to management, providing insights on performance, delays, and operational challenges.
- **Crew Management**:Ensure that all flight crew members are appropriately assigned, and flight crews are compliant with regulatory rest periods.
Assist in managing crew schedules and coordinating crew resources.
Provide support and training for flight operations personnel to ensure high standards of operation.
- **Flight Dispatch**:Coordinate flight dispatch activities, including flight planning, weather checks, and route optimization.
Ensure that all necessary documents, such as flight plans, permits, and weather information, are prepared and provided to the flight crew before departure.
Maintain oversight of fuel requirements, cargo loads, and other operational considerations for flights.
- **Emergency Response and Crisis Management**:Lead or assist in managing emergency situations, including aircraft diversions, medical emergencies, and unplanned landings.
Follow emergency response protocols and maintain situational awareness during critical incidents.
Provide timely, accurate information to relevant stakeholders during emergencies.
- **Process Improvement**:Identify areas for improvement in air operations and suggest solutions to streamline processes.
Work with management to implement improvements that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Education**:Bachelor's degree in aviation management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
Certification in aviation operations or air traffic control is a plus (e.g., ICAO certifications, ATC certifications).
- **Experience**:3-5 years of experience in air operations, flight planning, or a related field.
Experience in managing flight schedules, crew coordination, and air traffic operations is highly desirable.
Familiarity with airport operations, air traffic control procedures, and aviation regulations is essential.
