
Criminal Investigator

**Duties**:
- Responsible for the strategic, initiation, direction, coordination, staff supervision and review of the CID investigative policy and operations program.
- Determine the need for and development of plans to ensure the command is capable of meeting the often changing worldwide investigative needs of the Army.
- Serve as the principle expert advisor to the USACID Director on all investigative policy issues and provides technical counsel and recommendations to him.
- Review and research automated criminal investigative databases and other sources to determine applicability in changing or adopting new policy initiatives.
- Represent the USACID at various high-level panels and conferences involving criminal investigation policy.
- Manage the development of policy controlling the USACID investigative mission.

- Must agree in writing to comply with management-directed permanent change of station (PCS) movement to meet mission requirements.
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license at the time of appointment, must maintain license while employed in the position, and will be required to operate a motor vehicle.
- Must qualify with and carry a firearm.
- A pre-employment and annual physical examination is required.
- Must sign a mobility agreement if selected.

- To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
- **Specialized experience is defined as**: Planning, developing, and conducting criminal investigations, planning and directing investigative support operations and providing investigative guidance to subordinate criminal investigators. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service, GS-13.
- **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**: Performance of above duties requires moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that the incumbent may perform the duties satisfactorily. Incumbent must possess sufficiently good vision, with or without glasses, in each eye, in order that they may perform the duties satisfactorily. Near vision, glasses permitted, must be acute for reading of printed materials the size of typewritten characters. The ability of incumbent to hear conversational voices and whispered speech is required. Any hearing impairment may be compensated for by use of a hearing aid. Since the duties of the position are exacting, responsible, and involve work performed under arduous and dangerous conditions, you must possess emotional and mental stability. Any physical condition, which would cause the applicant to be a hazard to himself/herself or to others, will disqualify him/her.
