Job Title: Principal Instrument Engineer/Designer SPI Administrator

Position Summary:
Seeking a highly skilled Principal Instrument Engineer/Designer SPI Admin to support detailed design, data management, and SPI/Intools administration for a major oil & gas project. Required to lead and coordinate instrument design deliverables and ensuring database integrity, compliance, and configuration control throughout the project.

**Responsibilities**:
Lead instrumentation design activities using SmartPlant Instrumentation, ensure quality and consistency.

SPI Administrator, manage user access, database configuration, reference data library, and system troubleshooting.

Develop, manage SPI templates for loop drawings, instrument index, I/O lists, wiring, and hook-up details.

Interface with engineering disciplines and ensure integration of design data.

Coordinate data handover in accordance with project data management plans and client requirements.

Support SPI data imports/exports, SQL queries, and integration with SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) and/or other digital platforms.

Maintain configuration control and document revisions in line with project procedures.

Provide technical guidance within the design team.

Manage interdisciplinary model reviews, HAZOP/HAZID sessions, and vendor data reviews as required.

Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards (IEC, ISA, API), and safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 12-15 years of relevant experience in instrumentation design in the oil & gas, petrochemical industry with at least 5 years in SPI administration.

Proven experience in SmartPlant Instrumentation/Intools) setup, customization, and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with instrument loop drawings, wiring diagrams, JB schedules, cable routing, and field installation layouts.

Experience working on brownfield and greenfield projects under EPC or EPCM environments.

Strong knowledge of industry standards such as IEC, ISA, ANSI, API.

Experience in data handover processes and digital project delivery.

Strong coordination, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Attributes:
Previous experience with Design standards or similar major operator specifications.

SmartPlant Foundation (SPF), AVEVA E&I, or Hexagon SmartSuite required.

Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Able to start immediately or within short notice.
