**What the day will look like**
Assume responsibility for the Claims Management Services of a Captive Insurance subsidiary of a multi-national corporation, which include but not limited to the following:
- Developing and maintaining of Claims Reporting Schedule;
- Presenting claims report during Board meeting;
- Developing and updating claims management procedures manual;
- Providing general information and assistance to the insured to ensure that claims are notified in a timely fashion;
- Reviewing notifications of any incidents which may give rise to a claim and provide assistance and guidance to the insured as appropriate, including requests for additional information;
- Opening and maintaining separate claim files for each notified incident or insurance claim;
- Providing advice in relation to liability, quantum, indemnity and future management of each claim as appropriateo;
- Establishing, maintaining and reviewing outstanding reserves for insurance claims on an ongoing basis;
- Instructing loss adjusters, lawyers and other experts as appropriate for the purpose of managing the claim;
- Co-ordinating the payment of claims to the insured, third parties and fees rendered by loss adjusters, lawyers and other experts;
- Submitting or accepting settlement offers, or defending claims in accordance with the agreed authority levels;
- Keeping client informed about the progress of claims by periodic reports in an agreed format;
- Liaising with accounting staff to ensure accounts reflect accurate payments and reserves; and
- Providing monthly and ad hoc claims data in the required format
- Project work in support of other captive clients, including prospects, as designated by management
**Skills and experience that will lead to success**
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry
- Experience and knowledge on general insurance, in particular liability claims knowledge will be advantageous
- Possess professional insurance qualifications, E.g. ACII or ANZIIF
- Good communication skills for engaging with clients, third parties and colleagues alike
- An ability to meet tight deadlines around reporting deadlines
- A team player is required in this environment to support the wider client service team ethic
- A desire to continuously improve the efficiencies of the role and enhance the processes
