**Associate, Claims Specialist**
Singapore
In this role, you will have the opportunity to actively handle claims both as a lead and following (re) insurer in order to provide a prompt and efficient service to clients and meet corporate claims objectives and targets. Your claims portfolio will have a primary focus (70%) on Energy, Property and Construction and secondary focus (30%) on Casualty, Marine, Aviation and Fine Art & Specie. Claims are multi-jurisdictional with clients across the Asia, Middle East regions and with claims occurring across the world. You will be report to the Claims Manager.
- This is a regulated role under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity regime._
**What you’ll be DOING**
What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Client servicing, liaison with underwriters, distribution, risk engineers, and reporting to management including claims practice leaders.
- Manage the adjustment of reinsurance and insurance claims up to given handling and settlement authority.
- Negotiate and liaise with insureds, brokers, cedants, loss adjusters and other service providers in order to deliver prompt and fair claims service.
- Oversee claims administration, including but not limited to process claims advices and settlements, liaise with Finance on payments, ensure that claims are entered onto system correctly and in a timely manner and ensure that reports are prepared correctly and given to management on time.
- Maintain and diarize tasks to ensure that claims are kept updated so that they can be dealt with efficiently, timely and in accordance with corporate objectives and targets.
- Ensure claims are handled in line with Global Claims Handling Guidelines.
- Support Senior Claims Specialists and Claims Managers in the handling of claims across various lines of business, ensuring a collaborative approach to claims resolution and sharing of expertise to enhance overall team performance.
- Ensure that accurate reports / figures are provided to Underwriters for marketing and renewals purposes.
- Support the Underwriters and Client & Distribution leaders in marketing efforts and risk selection, and to make occasional market presentations to raise profile of the AXA XL Claims Team.
- Conduct portfolio management cross relevant LoBs, leveraging on best practices and data
- driven insights to promote cross
- functional collaboration with key internal stakeholders i.e. underwriters, risk engineering, etc.
- Participate in and contribute to internal claims projects focused on improving team efficiency, productivity and alignment with organizational objectives including but not limited to contributing to the company’s profitability.
- Regularly driving greater engagement with brokers/ clients to gather insights aimed at improving our superior claims service including but not limited to Brokers Academy, Claims Academy, and market presentations for the Asia region.
You will report to the Claims Manager.
**What you will BRING**
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or Engineering related Diploma or Degree
- Equipped with claims experience in property and construction will be desirable
- Sound knowledge of key product line(s) and regulatory environment
- Up to date appreciation of the technical requirements of the role
- Proven ability in identifying and analyzing problems, creating good solutions, deploying sound decision making skills.
- Proven track record of knowing what it takes to provide a consistently first-class customer service internally and/or externally
- Ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally
- Effective report writing skills, ability to develop and present ideas and reasoned arguments clearly and concisely to various audiences
- Effective communication skills, a confident and articulate presenter to internal/external audiences, exercising appropriate discretion in dealing with people from all levels of the Company
- Effective attention to detail and a meticulous eye for identifying inconsistencies or inaccuracies in data entry or data outputs
- Able to organize self (and others if applicable) including effective scheduling, prioritization and time management skills, completing tasks to tight deadlines. Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Comfortable taking ownership for own work, identifying the need for action (using initiative) whilst working effectively within a team.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel (including ability to manage if not write macros), Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
