Publishing Manager

**Your role**

The role of the Senior Publishing Manager is twofold:
To translate designs into high quality working solutions, producing complex and high-quality InDesign and MSWord templates, effortlessly managing projects in Connect and delivering accurate and error free artwork, ensuring that our work and the service we deliver meets and achieves the needs of our clients.

The Publishing Manager will also support the Senior Publishing Manager with the management
of the day-to-day operations within the Publishing team. This includes maintaining responsibility for successfully trafficking of all client and internal work, acting as the critical liaison between the account management and publishing teams, training team members on software, updates and processes, and acting as the team Manager in the Senior Publishing Manager’s absence.

**Your key responsibilities**

**1. **Project delivery**
- Maintain responsibility for the day-to-day management of the production process for designated print and digital projects, ensuring that all project deadlines are met in a timely manner
- Produce complex and high-quality InDesign and MSWord templates and deliver accurate artwork
- Maintain real ownership of Black Sun’s publishing platform ‘Connect’, creating an internal centre of excellence, championing the system and proactively making recommendations
to the Senior Publishing Manager for improvements
- Ensure that no work commences without a detailed brief being submitted, and take responsibility for ensuring that you understand all amends, requests and changes within
that brief
- Ensure that all quality control, procedures, systems and work practices are rigorously implemented by you and all publishing team members at all times ensuring complete accuracy of all deliverables. You will have overarching responsibility for quality control
- Provide effective solutions for all client requests in a timely and courteous manner. You
have responsibility for ensuring that all client requirements and deadlines are met
- Ensure proactive input to add value to projects at every stage
- Retain an eye for detail to ensure projects are executed to a high standard, proactively reviewing yours and your team members work to ensure it’s right the first time around

**2. **Product and technical development**
- Assist the Senior Publishing Manager in the development of Black Sun internal templates and tools, proactively making recommendations
- Develop an excellent working knowledge of digital asset production and the ‘WebConnect’ CMS system
- Recognise & embrace new technology-based publishing opportunities within the print and digital environments, most notably Black Sun’s ‘Connect’ Publishing Platform
- Proactively evaluate and make recommendations for new & alternative creative technology
to enhance design excellence, improve skills, increase productivity & reduce costs

Your qualifications, experience & skills
- Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent
- 7+ years’ Production/Artwork experience with exposure to Annual reports, web design and page production
- Exceptional attention to detail

High degree of expertise in:

- InDesign
- Illustrator
- Photoshop
- Microsoft Word
- PowerPoint
- Adobe Acrobat
