**What a College Intern - Product Engineer does at HP**:
**(1) CMP Machine Scope**
- Develop methods to extract and integrate real-time machine running parameters and setpoints for the newly acquired Ebara CMP machine.
- Structure data in formats suitable for analysis (e.g., CSV, SQL databases).
- Create scripts or utilize HP’s existing software to automate data collection.
- Design interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools.
- Implement advanced dashboard features such as filtering, sorting, and drill-down capabilities for in-depth data insights.
- Collaborate with IT and automation teams to ensure seamless data access and system compatibility.

**(2) Laser and Saw Machine Scope**:

- Centralize log files for all laser tools on a server, automating data collection using in-house software.
- Enhance user experience by simplifying the event viewer functionality within laser tools.
- Upgrade Laser Tool recipe creation from XML to a compatible, updated format.
- Support the automation of SAW tooling processes into IWAC systems.

**Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess**:

- Enrolled in a degree program in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Able to commit for a full-time internship for 5-6 months full-time, starting in May 2025.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R for data automation.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
- Knowledge of database systems and formats (e.g., SQL, CSV) is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across diverse teams.
