**Roles & Responsibilities**

**Summary**

We are looking for experienced Major Claim Assessor (i.e. equipped with skills to assess Death, Critical Illness and Disability Claim) with Major Claims approval authority, Consultant level and above.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure claims are handled efficiently and payment for valid claims is made to policyholders/beneficiaries.
- Involved in managing a claim from the start through to settlement, including making decisions on the extent and validity of a claim and checking for any potential fraudulent activity.

Typical activities may include:

- Assessing and processing insurance claims
- Obtaining information and documents required to proceed with a claim
- Monitoring the progress of a claim
- Investigating potentially fraudulent claims
- Identifying reasons why claim payment is not payable
- Ensuring fair settlement of a valid claim, the customer is treated fairly and that the customer receives excellent service in accordance with industry and company guidelines
- Communicating to insurance advisors, policyholders, claimants and beneficiaries pertaining to their queries relating to their claim
- Handling any complaints associated with a claim
- Liaising with the reinsurers, loss adjustors and legal team pertaining to assessment and settlement of the claim
- Adhering to contractual and legal requirements, industry regulations and customer quality standards set by the company
- Representing Claims Department to review the new products and provide inputs from Claims perspective, taking into consideration future needs and changing business needs. To review the User Acceptance Test (UAT) plan and scenarios prepared by AOS Team.
- To participate in discussions with the relevant departments, i.e. Products, AOS, Technology and etc in order to understand the product features of the new products and enhancements that are required in system.

What to expect
- Work to be based in AIA Tampines Office. May be required to travel to different AIA Office location at times.
- The job involves working to tight deadlines and working under pressure.

Skills Required
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in claims environment, with relevant working experience in Major Claims Assessment (i.e. knowledge in Death, Critical Illness and Disability Claim assessment) and with Major Claims approval authority, preferably with experience handling High Net Worth portfolio.
- Good command in written and spoken English.
- Customer service skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills and a confident disposition when dealing with people, often in difficult circumstances
- Meticulous, good mathematical ability in claims calculation and ability to comprehend contractual wordings
- Ability to manage and guide a team of claims officers
- Negotiation and decision-making skills
- Organisational and time management skills
