We are looking for a HR Consultant (8 Month Contract) to join the team in Singapore. This role will be an integral member of the Human Resources team based in Singapore.
He/she is expected to provide impactful services and solutions in support of Singapore and Malaysia business as a direct point of contact, partners with client groups, managers, leaders, employees, and other HR COEs (Centre of Excellence) as needed. The primary focus is to partner with employees and leaders to understand and address root causes of HR issues, provides guidance to reduce organizational risk and resolve employee relations issues, ensure legal compliance, and supports a productive work environment.
The role will report to Head of HR Consulting, Asia (excluding Japan & India), and may have visibility to the projects and initiatives across Asia.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?
HR Advisory and Organizational Partnering- With the guidance of HR Leadership and HR Business Partners, provide consultation and coaching services for leaders in the assessment and resolution of issues focused on increasing the effectiveness of employees, leaders, and teams- Provide metrics, trends, and analysis of site and regional climate and business issues with consideration of local and global impact- Remain up to date on relevant changes to Singapore and Malaysia employment act or local market best practices- Respond to client requests for a variety of HR services including benefits, HR policies, procedures and other HR related questions
COE Partnering and Administration- Partner with COEs to support the business on various HR activities (e.g., recruitment, benefits, local facilitation, development program, engagement activities)- Advise managers through the on-barding process, conduct HR induction for all new hires, and ensure all p-file documents and compliance requirements processes are completed and documented- Work with HRSSU to manage system transactions, following workflow and documentation requirements-
- Optimize use of HR systems and processes to support business needs- Actively suggest process improvements that improve HR service quality or operational efficiencies
Employee Relations and Risk Mitigation-
- Respond to employee relations-related needs and, with guidance, determines solutions to mitigate organizational risk, including conducting, documenting, and resolving investigations- Stay Current with labor law changes and communicates changes to leaders and employees
HR Projects- Support HR Leadership and HR Business Partners to successfully deploy global or HR COE programs to respective countries- Lead assigned projects from end to end- Act as country expert on HR-related projects and initiatives, providing guidance on risk-related and routine consulting items
What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?- University graduate with min 5 years’ relevant working experience in HR- Preferred experience in Financial Service industry-
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English- High levels of personal and professional integrity to develop deep relationships- Well-organized, detail-oriented and accurate- Ability to work independently for day to day work- Minimal travel to Malaysia office
