Contractor, Unified Communications Engineer

**Who we’re looking for**

We’re looking for an experienced Unified Comms Engineer who can work on the support and continued development of the Unified Communications capabilities across the estate here at Schroders.

Global Infrastructure within Schroders is going through a significant transformation, over the past few years we’ve gone through an enormous period of technical change which has pushed Unified Communications to the fore. As a truly global organisation with hundreds of cross border teams, our reliance on unified comms has been increasing dramatically and the pandemic has only accelerated the demand for best-in-class collaborative technologies. With the impending End of Life of SFB, over the next 12 months, we are migrating our Voice services to MS Teams.

You will be part of the team supporting Skype for Business and Teams within Schroders. You must have experience supporting in a large global organisation and have implementation experience.

**The team**

The Singapore based APAC Technology Infrastructure Team provides primary operations and engineering services for all infrastructure components across the Asia-Pacific region and the rest of the world working in a Follow-The-Sun global support model.

**What you’ll do**
- Be the primary operational and engineering contact for Voice Estate in APAC
- Co-ordinate the regional efforts to move primary voice services from SFB to MS Teams
- Capacity planning and the management and monitoring of the estate
- Work as part of a Global multi-locational cross-matrix team in a dynamic environment
- Share knowledge with the Comms operations team
- Working with other teams such including Service Desk, Platforms, Information Security and End User Services
- Proactively own incidents, problems or issues adhering to SLA’s and OLA’s where relevant
- Act as a technical resource for change requests and project works
- Act as a technical resource for maintenance, firmware upgrades, and recurring patch cycles
- Utilise, update and create and Standard Operating Procedures and other documentation
- Generally normal APAC working hours but you should have the flexibility to work on weekends and on-call standbys when required

**The knowledge, experience and qualifications you'll need**
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a unified communications engineer role
- Experience with both support and implementation experience on Skype for Business and Teams
- Experience supporting a large organisation or global MNC
- Technical management of Verba Voice recording platforms
- Management of Session Border Controllers such as Sonus / Ribbons Voice gateways
- Experience with Cisco Call manager
- Experience with Cisco Meeting Server and Expressway-C/Expressway-E
- Knowledge and Experience with managing MS Teams design
- Experience of certificate management
- Network probes and packet capture analysis
