
Lead Cost Engineer

The Lead Cost Engineer reports to the Project Control Manager.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- To provide assistance to all departments in the selection of the optimized cost-wise solution while complying with contractual obligations,
- To check, analyse and forecast all expenses involved in the contract execution,
- To prepare/update the cost control procedures,
- To prepare/update the Project initial budget,
- To follow-up the financial commitments,
- To evaluate remaining expenses,
- To follow-up the Project treasury status.
**Main Tasks**:
- Analyses the budget received by the Company with the Project Control Manager, including any modification further to final contractual negotiations, and prepare the Project Initial Budget for approval by Project Manager.
- Verifies that the Contractors’ variation requests comply with the Contract and prepares the corresponding Variation Orders for Project Manager’s approval.
- Regularly amends the Contract price on the basis of the approved Variation Orders.
- Regularly controls the budget, identifying as early as possible any cause of additional cost, taking the leadership in the research of cost effectiveness solutions.
- Focuses on updating the forecast expenses while taking into account “live” basis and experience. Use as much as necessary the support of “in house” estimating techniques and tools while being fully aware of any potential scope change and new risk assessment.
- Receives and analyses any cost-related report from the Contractors.
- Prepares regular Cost Reports, under the supervision of the Project Control Manager, and issues them after Project Manager’s approval.
