Librarian (Secondary)

**MISSION**

In collaboration with the librarian teacher, the librarian leads pedagogical sessions and reading activities, and participates in the supervision of students at the 3C (Knowledge and Culture Centre).

**RESPONSABILITIES**

**Document management**:

- Managing, supplying and enriching the document collection in French and English
- Ensuring an informative and documentary watch
- Registering and equipping books
- Filing and storing documents, putting shelves back in order
- Managing document loans and returns

**Managing students and spaces in 3C**:

- Ensuring alone the functioning of the 3C in the absence of the librarian teacher.
- Welcoming and advising users (students, teachers, adults)
- Managing student flows
- Ensuring that the spaces and equipment provided are respected
- Responding to various requests related to attendance, use and reservation of spaces

**Educational animations**:

- Supporting the librarian teacher in his/her pedagogical sessions.
- Training students in media and information literacy, in collaboration with the librarian teacher.

**Help with documentary research, encouragement to read, animation and cultural openness**:

- Helping users find their way around in the various spaces and find the documents they are looking for, in particular via the 3C search engine (PMB)
- Setting up daily activities in collaboration with teachers and the librarian for the promotion of reading.
- Advising users in their reading
- Hosting a literary café with high school students and adults
- Publishing a cultural agenda on events in Singapore
- Participating in the Red Dot Literary Award organised by the International Schools of Singapore
- Communicating and participating in exchanges with international schools in Singapore

**SKILLS,ABILITY AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATION**
- Degree or Diploma in documentation or a bachelor's or master's degree related to information and documentation sciences
- Experience in a school environment or in the library/media library network (cultural activities, promotion of reading) would be highly appreciated.
- Library Knowledge
- Good knowledge of a library management software (PMB, Esidoc)
- Proficency in Pack Office and Google suite (Google Drive, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Docs)
- Good ability to communicate with students and the teaching team.
- Fluency in French and English, bilingualism is a plus
- Sense of contact and strong interpersonal skills
- Being able to work in a team
- Being rigorous in the method of information management
- Adapting to the needs of children from 6th to 12th grade
- A taste for culture and literature

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Permanent contract, on the basis of a part-time of 38 hours per week
- Remuneration according to the IFS salary scheme
- School vacation minus one week at the end and beginning of academic school year
