BW Energy Storage Systems (BW ESS) is a leading investor in the battery energy storage systems (BESS) space, with a significant portfolio of projects in the United Kingdom, and an investment focus that also spans Europe, Australia, and the United States.
In the UK, we have invested in and partnered with Penso Power, one of the country’s leading greenfield BESS developers. Together, we will be deploying over 1 GWh of BESS within the next few years, with an additional pipeline of more than 1 GWh.
BW ESS benefits from BW Group’s decades-long track record as an energy infrastructure investor, and its significant investment in the world’s leading provider of batteries for the maritime space, Corvus Energy.
DESIGNATION : Business Development Lead, BW Energy Storage Systems
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Business Development Lead will be responsible for proactively sourcing and developing new investment opportunities for BW ESS in the grid scale energy storage space.
Key focus areas would include late-stage project acquisitions, joint development agreements, developer platform investments, etc., and following up on the existing investment portfolio.
The geographical focus will be Europe, Asia Pacific, and the US. The role will involve close collaboration with the BW Group Strategy team, and will report to the Managing Director for BW Renewables.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Has significant relevant experience (10 years) from the renewable energy industry, either as principal or financial advisor/consultant
- Is comfortable proactively building relationships in the industry, and independently originating new business opportunities
- Is experienced in developing and presenting business opportunities for board level consumption, both strategically and financially
- Has a track record of leading sizeable transactions
- A high degree of independence, with persistence and drive to deliver results
- A proactive and creative mindset, with strong quantitative skills
- Good planning and organisation skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a customer focused approach
- Team player with a collaborative mindset
